Guinea Pig Re-homing Norfolk

Rescue and Re-homing based just outside Norwich

I thought it would be nice to add a little section about ourselves.

My name is Vikki, I have been working with, rescuing and re-homing animals all my life from fish to horses. After finishing university I worked as a voluteer for the RSPCA in the cattery, on the telephones and fostering for our local branch in Norwich. Since moving to my bungalow in 2002 I have had several rescue dogs and small animals but recently the number of guinea pigs needing homes has seemed an important issue (plus we increased our population from 7 to 15 over a weekend), so it was decided that we would take on extra guinea pigs and rehome them when possible. Many centres exist for rehoming locally but we only house guinea pigs so we can concentrate our resources on them specifically.

I also share a retired horse, have a rescue greyhound, two rescued hamsters, an enormous tank and smaller tank for tropical fish, and a tank of cold water fish. Our house is known by our friends as 'the petting zoo'! My parents await the day when I announce we have added a goat or sheep ! (Recent addition - two Indian Running Ducks!)

My partner is a softie with the guinea pigs and adores them all particularly enjoying cuddling them on the sofa when watching movies. He finds it very hard to let any of them go which is why 20 are resident! He works full time so is more involved in cuddling than cleaning but it is lovely that we can give each guinea individual attention everyday.

My time is generally spent in the stables, shed or walking the dog and I thoroughly enjoy being outdoors and with the animals in all weathers.
