Guinea Pig Re-homing Norfolk

Can you put a price on a life?

Can you put a price on a life?

A guinea in distress,

A trip to the vets,

"How much will it cost?

I can buy a new one for less!"

Can you put a price on a life?

"How much is that bill?

Its only a guinea,

you should have put it down,

if it was ill."

Can you put a price on a life?

They are small,

but they feel,

and the pain and the suffering,

is just as real.

Can you put a price on a life?

Be the animal big,

or small,

when they are suffering,

do you hear their call?

Can you put a price on a life?

To me no you can't.

If there is hope

and a way to treat them

"We shall try!" is our chant.

Sadly many guinea pigs who come to us accumulate large vets bills in their recovery an increasingly with the current climate people are not realising that even a small pet can run up a large bill.

Please if you have pets put aside a small amount each month towards a veterinary fund or get insurance.

Too often guinea arrive with conditions that if treated early would have been easy to cure but as they have been left so long without veterinary treatment take a lot longer time to recover.

Please bear this in mind if you are thinking of getting a guinea pig they are not a "cheap pet" as they have the same needs as any other animal when it comes to veterinary care.

Vets consultation fees can put some people off going, as it can cost up to £20 to just have a consultation but can you really put a price on a life when an animal is suffering?

Some of the attitudes I have encountered have been marvellous regarding the care of guinea pigs, sadly some are not please bear in mind when you take on any animal you are being entrusted to care for another life that is totally reliant on your for all aspects of their care.
